Leadership
Richard J Ahmann III, CEO
Throughout his lifetime, CEO Richard J. Ahmann III has been close to the insurance industry. He was only 6 years old when his father joined the Ed Arnold Company, which would later bear his father's name.
Like his dad, Rick will be quick to tell you he loves the insurance business. That's good, because in addition to being CEO of RJ Ahmann Company, Rick is also president of RJ Ahmann Benefits, LLC, along with Liberty Insurance Agency and Educators Protection Agency. All are independent insurance agencies that specialize in life insurance, employee benefit programs, investment products, risk management and property/casualty coverage.
Although enjoying his career is important, Rick's dad taught him to love his family more than his job. It's a lesson Richard learned well, and one he and wife, Joan, have handed down to their three daughters.
Along with family and business priorities, Rick has served the community in a variety of positions. These include his current membership in the Minneapolis Breakfast Club, the Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce and the Edina Chamber of Commerce. He has also served as the secretary/treasurer of the Richfield Optimist Club and as the precinct chair for the Neighbor to Neighbor program.
Rick has been honored throughout his 30-year career in the insurance business. He was named Minnesota Independent Insurance Agent of the Year in 1997.
In the past, he led the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Minnesota (IIABM) as its regional directors, as chairman of its budget committee and as a member of the IIAM board of directors. He currently serves on the SFM Agency Advisory Committee, the sixth committee to benefit from Rick's experience and industry insights.
Rick earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and psychology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He has since continued his study of the insurance business at the University of Minnesota, as well as in courses offered through CIC, CPCU and other industry organizations.
Dean Hildebrandt, President
As President of RJ Ahmann Company, Dean has guided the company's growth for more than a decade. He is responsible for managing the overall performance of the organization. He can rely on his more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry to help frame that guidance.
Dean earned a BS in Finance and Accounting from St. Cloud State University and an MBA in Finance and MIS from the University of St. Thomas. Recently, he has completed the coursework for his Ph.D. in Organization Learning and Development at the University of St. Thomas. He also finds time to serve the community as Treasurer for the nonprofit Courage Center Foundation.
On weekends, you may find him with his family water skiing in the summer or hunting pheasants with his dog Herman in the fall and winter.
Andrew Krane, Senior Vice President
There's an insurance word that aptly describes Andrew's talents, "comprehensive." That's because his specialty is management of every aspect of a client's insurance program, including property and casualty, employee benefits and surety bonds.
Andrew's insurance experience spans over 20 years, more than half of which with RJ Ahmann Company. Andrew's current responsibilities at RJ Ahmann include managing the company's benefits department and serving on the board of directors.
Andrew received a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Drake University. He current holds a Chartered Benefit Consultant (CBC) designation. He also participates in several industry associations, such as the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Minnesota, AGC of South Dakota and the Collaborative.
The RJA business insurance team is focused on providing an insurance solution to meet your specific needs. Whether it is a business or individual insurance solution, a surety bond, or an employee benefits package, the RJ Ahmann team is here to help.
